4/24/2023 0 Comments Ontrac by end of daySad, they were once a great place for hardware, now they're a clip joint living off that long dead reputation and the support of a few remaining fanboys. Newegg is happy to screw their long time customers over a single sale if it will make them money. Even if they're an authorized dealer now, they could have that pulled at any time, and don't expect them to tell you. Now newegg sells under the "world wide stereo" line. I've got a small claims case going in va on exactly that point. Newegg committed fraud by advertising themselves as an authorized dealer when they were not. They have a legal contract in their warranty. You'd be safer buying off the back of a truckįor all the (many fewer these days) newegg apologists - no, it's not deon's fault. They have a history of getting their hands on high end stock through questionable means and the selling it out claiming to be an authorized dealer. What customers are thinking Overall Rating 2.0 based on 742 ratings On time delivery 1.8 Delivery experience 1. OnTrac is a prominent courier service provider. Call newegg and this joker tells me they'll contact denon and take care of it - this is over a year ago now and it turns out they never even contacted denon despite numerous calls and assurances. Parcel Monitor for OnTrac allows you to track all your packages with just their tracking number Standard and Express deliveries can all be tracked with Parcel Monitor. I call Denon and they tell me the warranty is covered because newegg is not an authorized dealer. Six months later the receiver starts having problems. Got it in writing and called newegg where they told me they were an authorized dealer. Was concerned at the time that they be an authorized dealer. Bought an expensive (over $1,000) Denon receiver from them two years ago. The real point of this post is to warn folks against buying big ticket items from them. Long time (15+ years) big customer (more than a dozen builds when I look at my order history) customer of newegg. So this isn't missed by any unsuspecting who ends up getting screwed on a holiday purchase: I'm used to finding my packages at my neighbors house, since they can't read the head-level building number. Funny thing, it was for a house 20 miles away. It was marked as delivered on the tracking number 3 weeks prior. I found a package IN THE STREET that UPS apparently lost. So I'm without hot water until at least Tuesday.īegs the question, why do these scanners not log (and upload to the tracking) a GPS coordinate when they scan the package as being "delivered". It never came, I was out front during the supposed "delivery" time (saw no trucks) so I call FedEx and they say they need to talk to the driver. Ordered a water heater part on Amazon, paid overnight delivery, nothing came. Speaking of OnTrac, I'm not having much luck with FedEx. Instead, they take the approach of "well you're just going to have to pay full price". Any smart company would realize the mistake and honor the prices that you paid. Unfortunately, this is NewEggs way of doing customer service these days.
